Today I had to go inside the gas station at lunch time and buy a newspaper. So I was standing in line to pay for the paper, and in walks these two guys. One guy looked very familiar, but I tried not to stare. He was a nice guy – we chit chatted about a little nothing and laughed at his friend trying on the cheap sunglasses. After they left, I realized it was Darius Rucker. OMG!

The best thing about Thursdays is that Survivor comes on TV after dinner. I love this show – I’ve watched it since it first came out – I think it was about 7 or 8 years ago. Remind me to go check when it started. I know I watched it with Chris and James at their apartment. I think they had that apartment in 2002. They got me hooked on the show and I haven’t missed an episode yet.
It always amazes me that the contestants come to the launch so ill prepared. They don’t have the appropriate clothes or even any survival skills. I can tell you that if i knew I was going to be on the show, I would be working out and training to get physically fit, and I would read the Boy Scout’s manual and every book on surviving in the wilderness that I could find.

OK – we’ve been a couple for a long time and friends for a long time before we ruined the friendship and landed in bed together. But you would think that the guy would know that I love only certain kinds of chocolates. I take chocolates very seriously. I only like the really good chocolates and he never sees me buying cheap chocolates. So why would he all of a sudden decide to buy me a big box of cheap chocolate truffles for Valentine’s Day? I hate cheap chocolates and especially don’t like truffles. ARRRRGGH!
I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but here was the best opportunity to impress me with a thoughtful gift and he blew it. I wonder of screwing up Valentine’s Day with cheap chocolates is grounds for divorce? I think it might be.

Well, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning and the official word is that we will have 6 more weeks of winter ahead.
I said before that winter is my least favorite season. I just can’t get a break. I hope that Mother Nature proves Phil wrong this time. I’m about done with heavy coats and muddy boots. I need spring!

The Pittsburgh Steelers won the Super Bowl game, but there were commercials that won, too. Everyone knows that the Super Bowl is the championship for TV commercials, with only 50 spots available that command the highest price for air time.
There was the cutest commercial featuring a Budweiser Clydesdale horse, Romeo, and a beautiful white circus horse. They fell in love but the circus left town and Romeo chased the circus across country to find his true love again. It was so cute! Thank you, Budweiser!
