In grade school we learned about St. Patrick, who charmed all the snakes out of Ireland.
I wonder if that is true in today’s world? Are there really no snakes in Ireland? Forgive me if that sounds impertinent, but I really don’t know. I suspect that it is too cold up there for most snakes anyway. It seems to me that the further South you go and the warmer the weather, the more snakes there are.
Anyway, I hope the people of Ireland do no have to deal with snakes or any other kinds of rodents and pests, and that their life is as quaint and charming as all the postcards and photos make it appear to be.
In America, St. Patricks Day is a great excuse to bust out of Winter’s gloom and have a wild party. We have parades, green rivers, green beer and parties all over town for days before and on St. Pats Day.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Tonight we are supposed to set our clocks forward to lose an hour of sleep but wake up at the right time, because tomorrow morning starts the new Daylight Savings time for most places in the U.S.
I know there are a couple of places out west that do not observe Daylight Savings time. They have the right to not observe it, but it sure adds to a lot of confusion when you are trying to consider the timeliness of a phone to someone living there. Especially when it is a business call and you have to call before they close for the day.

Well I guess the ground hog was right about a longer winter. It snowed last night and has been bitter cold, windy and wet all day. I have had enough of snow and the drak and gloomy days. I really could use a warm sunny day to get the fog out of my head and get me motivated. When it is dark and gloomy I can’t think and just want to go back to bed. Yuck.
