A couple of months ago I joined Facebook. I know. I’m not exactly an early adopter. I like to take things a little slower and let others pay for the mistakes first.
To be honest, I joined Facebook because “all my friends are doing it” and I was starting to feel left out. I like it OK, although I haven’t learned much from my friends on FB that I don’t hear in person. But the games are pretty fun. They only last a minute or two and they are a great way to take a mind break and then go back to work with a clear head.

I have not found the right “look” for my blog. I shop the free themes on the WordPress site, but can’t seem to find one that really appeals to me. Nothing really looks like “me.” I’m going to keep looking. It’s frustrating!

One of the odd things about computers and the internet is the constant change. We are always being told that there is a better way. It’s faster, cheaper, smaller, bigger, more secure, easier, more intuitive, etc., and we must have it. Even if we are happy with the current version, we are pretty much forced into accepting the new versions because the companies stop supporting the older versions or they become incompatible with what everyone else is using.
I need to upgrade my version of the blogging software that I’m using. I barely figure out how to install it in the first place. Now I have to spend how many hours learning to install an upgraded version. I don’t like risking everything I’ve done on a failed upgrade. Can’t we just keep what we’ve got and go on?

A friend of mine has started blogging and I didn’t even know it until today at lunch when I was talking about my blog and she spoke up about her blog. What a nice surprise! I checked out her blog as soon as I got home tonight and was very impressed. She has a pretty theme and she writes about little odds and ends like I do.
If you are interested in reading a personal blog by my friend and co-worker, Gwen Luckett, just click on the link I put in this post. Tell her I sent you!
