A good old fashioned baseball game sounds really good about now. Tickets are only $10 for reserved seats, so a family of four can go and buy hot dogs and cokes and stil be well under $100 for the night.
The City has a triple A team called, “The Sounds,” which is a nice tie-in to “Music City.” This team has the really good, young players that have a chance to get drafted up to the major leagues if they do well in this league. The Milwaukee Brewers are keeping the Sounds going as a farm team for their players. So there is a good chance that the player you see at a Sounds game will soon be playing for the Brewers.

There were so many fun things to do around here this weekend. Festivals, a race, outdoor concerts, Predators Open House – all kinds of things that I wanted to do. But we woke up to rain again and the events that weren’t smart enough to have a backup staging area or plans to postpone due to inclement weather had no attendance. No one around here with any brains wants to be outdoors in a thunder and lightning storm. Lightning kills people – more often than even tornadoes do. So when it’s storming here, we stay home – or at least indoors.

The Pittsburgh Steelers won the Super Bowl game, but there were commercials that won, too. Everyone knows that the Super Bowl is the championship for TV commercials, with only 50 spots available that command the highest price for air time.
There was the cutest commercial featuring a Budweiser Clydesdale horse, Romeo, and a beautiful white circus horse. They fell in love but the circus left town and Romeo chased the circus across country to find his true love again. It was so cute! Thank you, Budweiser!

Football is winding down their season, but they always do it in a very exciting way, with the Super Bowl the big prize.
We have the playoff games this weekend and our home team is a contender for the Super Bowl, with their best ever record. Our CFO is having a game viewing party at his home and he invited all the managers to come watch the game with his family. that is really generous of him. I might try to go by there and join the party. I don’t know yet. I want to see if anything better comes along.

Almost every Friday night I try to get in a few games of bowling. We have a nice bowling alley just on the outskirts of town, they keep it nice and clean and good times are almost always had by all. You can smoke and drink at our alley, I’ve been to a few that have recently banned smoking and their food court only serves non-alcoholic beverages, which just doesn’t seem right and throws the whole atmosphere off kilt.
I have made so many friends and made a lot of contacts by bowling during my lifetime, it is a great opportunity to network with all kinds of people. The exercise is certainly a plus also.
